Missy Lynch

Melissa “Missy” Leigh Lynch grew up nearby the tropical and beautiful Florida Everglades. By the age of four she had already decided that she was going to be an artist! After graduating from high school Melissa attended University of Florida, The Ringling School of Art and Design, and The Rhode Island School of Design’s Continuing Education Department of Children’s Storybook Illustration & Writing. She works as an art teacher, sculptress, and designer (much of the sculpting and designing has been done for the giftware industry). “I have always had a passion for writing and illustrating children’s books!” she says. Melissa now resides in gorgeous East Tennessee in which her art studio is located high up in the woods. She states: “My art studio is sort of like Sidney the skunk’s tree house in my book…high up in the woods!” Her husband Barry and son Jesse smile as they agree!
